Steven Marking, baritone

Steven Marking returns to us after singing Escamillo in the innaugural season of Middlebury Opera Company. He comes from a small town near LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and currently resides in Hoosick, NY. He is currently studying Wagnerian repertoire in conjunction with Evelyn Lear and the Washington D.C. Wagner Society. Mr. Marking produces numerous concert programs, including A Night of Italian Opera for The College of Saint Joseph in Rutland, VT, his all-Italian program In Bocca al Lupo, his all–American song program I’ve Known Rivers, a program of gospel hymns and spirituals entitled Then Sings My Soul, and numerous cabarets, including programs dedicated to Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Noel Coward, Flanders and Swann, and Irving Berlin.
